We are the Wandle Independent Group
Your Neighbours, Your Voice
The Wandle Independent Group is a grassroots collective of Wandle Ward residents, just like you. We are not career politicians, nor are we tied to the agendas of national political parties. We are parents, local employees, small business owners, retirees, and active community members who share a deep commitment to making Wandle Ward the best it can be.
Why Independent?
We believe that local issues demand local solutions, free from the influence of Westminster politics and the pressure of national media. Being independent means our loyalty is solely to the people of Wandle Ward. We can focus entirely on what matters most to our community, listen without bias, and make decisions that directly benefit our ward. Our policies are driven by your concerns, not by party politics.
Our Vision for Wandle Ward
We envision a Wandle Ward that is greener, safer, more inclusive, and truly responsive to the needs of all its residents. We stand for:
Community First: Prioritising the long-term well-being and concerns of Wandle residents above all else.
Transparency and Accountability: Operating openly and being answerable for our actions.
Practical Solutions: Focusing on pragmatic & practical approaches to local challenges.
A Stronger Local Voice: Ensuring Wandle's unique needs are heard and acted upon within Wandsworth Council.

Our two candidates have not yet been chosen, and we looking to broaden our group so we can draw the widest possible pool of experience and commitment ahead of confirming our candidates. We expect our candidates to commit to the principles and priorities that will be finalised in February 2026, priorities that will be consistent with our vision for building a greener, safer and inclusive neighbourhood.
